Panther Pride is the new theme for the 2010-11 school year.
According to Athletic Director Mr. Rod Harris, Panther Pride was put into place to install school spirit to the students and community. He also added that he wants to get everybody involved and know what is going on.
Mr. Harris said that the idea for Panther Pride came from a leadership retreat over the summer.
“Administrators went and discussed what they thought the school needed, and they thought we needed school spirit and pride,” he said. Mr. Harris added if a student takes pride in their school it will affect their academics in a positive way.
“I think the students will buy into it. When we get a couple students onto Panther Pride it will snowball and really catch on,” said Mr. Harris.
Principal Mr. Bryan Noaker said that Panther Pride gives the students and community a common point of interest.
“It gives people something to rally around,” he said.
He also added there is no less pride than when he was a student in school. He said there has been disconnect from school and community.
“Panther Pride is an outreach for people who may not feel connected to the school,” said Mr. Noaker.

This summer there were several renovations done in the Middle School to make it a "friendlier environment,” said Principal Mr. Bryan Noaker.
“The renovations that were done were new floors, new walls, and added classrooms. To add the classrooms they closed the upper part of the library,” said Mr. Noaker. Along with this, the renovators added a weight gym and fixed the heating and ventilation throughout the school.
“The school was supposed to be done in the beginning of the school year,” he said. They are only waiting on some more flooring to be put in, and then the school will be completed.
“The students in the Middle School are having regular schedule,” said Mr. Noaker. The classrooms are finished so they don’t have to worry about where the students go.
