Skills USA – The Jared Box Community Service Project
Milton High’s SkillsUSA club members are working in coordination with The Jared Box Project. The Jared Box Project provides clear shoeboxes full of goodies for children in hospitals across the country. Together, we are asking for your help! If you have items to donate to the Jared Box Project or you would like to create your own Jared Box, please stop by Door 6 at the HS (by the Pre-K program). How can you help? You can donate money, small toys, crayons, books, etc. — anything that would fit in a shoe box. Food items and/or used toys will not be accepted. For more information, please watch the Early Childhood Education students’ video here:
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. We provide educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education in the nation’s classrooms.
Questions about the Jared Box Project can be sent to Email ECE Milton.
Deadline to donate/pickup is Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Thank you! #JaredBoxesBySkillsUSA #PantherPride

AIM HI event at Geisinger
10th and 11th grade students attended Geisinger for the AIM HI event where they were introduced to a variety of professions in the medical field. This opportunity allowed them to learn about the cooperative education experiences that Geisinger offers for seniors. In combination with the Diversified Occupations program, the students would get real life experience in the medical field.

Congressman Fred Keller Visits CTE
Congressman Keller spent several hours with our students, focusing on Career & Technical Education and offering his assistance to further our access to “real world” hands-on training.
Mr. Keller was joined by Shane Fausey, National President of the Council of Prison Locals for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Fausey and Keller talked with our Criminal Justice students about career opportunities and thanked our students for their fantastic test scores and accomplishments.
A longtime supporter of agriculture, Mr. Keller met with Agriculture students and talked about a variety of topics, including hydroponic growing systems, like the ones currently thriving in our school.
Mr. Keller also received a first hand look at the work our Construction Trades students are doing to renovate the MASD Administrative offices along Mahoning Street.
